Our Purpose

Hey there, I’m Rory Price Aka The Guitar Ninja. 2020/2021 has been a challenge for many people including myself. A mental draining of sorts. However, this had led me to do some internal reflecting etc. To look at why I started The Guitar Ninja. What the purpose of the business actually was/is.

I had become fearful that with the pandemic I wouldn’t be able to give the same level of passion across in the lessons and people would start dropping out from lessons. I need students to pay my bills and I started to find myself thinking about my income more than my true passion. If all I had was a passion for earning money, guitar lessons isn’t going to be as well paid as a property investor or a top end job in the financial sector.

So Why Guitar?

Guitar is just a small aspect of why I started the guitar ninja. I love to inspire people. I feed off other peoples success and even more so if I feel I was able to assist in that success. There is a true sense of community and family within The Guitar Ninja, and that came from everyone supporting each other and cheering each other on. I personally, love to teach, be that guitar, music in almost any format, tricking/gymnastics, judo, business, science, engineering I enjoy it all, especially when I see someone manage something or understand something they struggled with.

Guitar is simply the subject I know most about and am personally really passionate about. It is the thing I can inspire and teach the best. One because I know it best, and two because I can lead by example as I have written music, toured in bands, improvised for years and got lost in the world of music just for fun as well. Most of my students will tell you that I will often cover things about the music industry and getting your name out there as well as the playing of the guitar itself.

I focus on writing and improvising as I feel this is a world of creativity that people can feed off. If I can produce musicians that will perform, they will inspire others. I can make the entire local music industry stronger and be a part of something bigger than myself. bigger than The Guitar Ninja!

The Future

I want to see of those moments that make me feel excited. The moment a student manages a technique they were struggling with. The moment a band member comes off stage pumped because they had an awesome show. Seeing them pumped and proud of themselves makes me feel so good myself.

I love music from all levels. The more local artists that write their own music and perform at open mic nights, perform on band nights or even run their own gigs. The more people coming off stage with the adrenaline rush I have loved since my first ever stage. The more the local music will grow and inspire others to do the same.

How I’m going to achieve this? By showing people the fun side of writing music and inspiring them to inspire others.
