Why In Person Guitar Lessons Work Better Than Going It Alone
Maybe, you’ve tried online tutorials. Maybe even bought a course or two. But something’s missing.
- You’re not sure what to focus on.
- You don’t know if you’re doing it right.
- You feel stuck, unmotivated, or embarrassed.
Sound familiar? That’s because learning guitar without feedback often leads to frustration, confusion, and wasted time. A YouTube Video can’t see you and correct your personal roadblocks.
In-person guitar lessons fix that by giving you:
- A real teacher who listens and adapts to your needs
- Personalised guidance to correct mistakes and accelerate learning
- A routine you can stick with — and stay motivated by

Start Feeling Proud of Your Playing
The biggest reason students stick with Guitar Ninja? They actually see themselves improving.
From playing their first song to performing in public — it’s about more than just playing notes.
It’s about:
- Building confidence
- Developing pride in your progress
- Feeling the joy of making music, not just copying it
Accountability & Structure That Keeps You Moving Forward
Seeing your progress can be hard at times, and so we developed a fun visible grading system for you to see progress, not just in grade numbers, but through our coloured strap grading system. Just like in martial arts where a fighting ninja grades through coloured belts, guitar ninjas grade through coloured straps until you earn the black strap and become an ultimate guitar ninja!
a coloured-level path (like martial arts) that rewards real-world musical growth in:
- Technique
- Theory
- Reading and writing
- Creativity and performance
You’ll always know where you’re at, what you’re working on, and how far you’ve come, and get to show off your new strap each time you level up!

Rory and The Guitar Ninja is brilliant. As a newbie student I have found Rory’s way of teaching so adaptable and useful and now I’m able to work around the guitar neck and trying to shred haha.

I love The Guitar Ninja teaching style in person and on the videos on the ninja app. As a beginner I’ve found Rory was able to explain the basics to me and get me playing very quick which helped me gain confidence and spurred me on to keep learning. Having a target with the next coloured strap really helps me to focus on the next goal and the course guides make it easy to see what I need to learn or improve on next to get there

Highly recommended. My son has been having for 6 months and enjoys it so much. Rory is a dedicated and lovly teacher who uses the most effective methods to help children learn the guitar skills more easily and love it.
I highly recommend The Guitar Ninja

The Guitar Ninja is a fantastic concept. Being one of Rory’s older if not oldest student it’s very easy to feel isolated while you’re learning because you don’t necessarily have a peer group with the same interest. The clubs overcome this and feel like a community, everyone no matter what age is there to support. Rory is a superb teacher with passion and knowledge. I’ve been a member about 9 months now and can honestly say I look forward to every class. I’m never going to be a Beck, Clapton or Gilmore but even in this short time have improved. Give it a go, you’ve nothing to lose and a lot to gain
Joe
Highly recommended. My daughter has been having lessons for the last year, and enjoys it so much
