The Guitar Ninja Student Performance 2021
Hey Ninjas!
Plans are now coming together nicely for the performance this year. I love the performances because they give students real stage experience, get the community together, and help support and grow everyone’s confidence. This year is extra exciting as we have the well established brand “Marshall Amplification” as our official main sponsor this year!!!
It is getting very close now so I have made this page to include as many details as I believe you need to know.
The Performance this year is on Saturday the 11th of December from 2pm-3:30pm at the Caroline Chisholm School (Wooldale centre for learning) in Wootton Northampton, NN4 6TP. Doors open at 1:45 and audience members can buy their tickets here:
What to expect on the day:
The performance includes, group performances from the students, solo performances, a guest performance from The Guitar Ninja themselves and a finale song where all the students come together to perform The Ninja Anthem as one large group.
There is also refreshments, discounted guitar shop items, a raffle with 2 electric guitars up for grabs, and programmes for the day available. And performers will be getting the real stage experience with Photographers, video cameras, sound tech staff and back stage access.
Below shows some live footage from last year, along with some rehearsal clips.
When do Performers need to arrive?:
Performers are expected to arrive for rehearsal at 11:45. This allows time for a full stage rehearsal, sound checks, lighting checks, and enough time for performers to get their professional portrait taken with our photographers.
What do Performers need?:
Performers should bring their own electric guitars (acoustic will be welcome but might not be heard that well), a jack-lead, a guitar strap and lunch/snacks for the day. If you own a small battery amplifier, please bring this with you as we have a smaller supply than other years. Also if you are performing solo, or in a small group (like the Cowboys from Hell group) Please bring the best amplifier that you have to ensure you are heard clearly.
Tickets:
While the event is FREE for students to perform, the audience entry fee is £11 per adult or £6 per child under 12 years old

Potentially 34 students and The Guitar Ninja themselves!
What performers need to prepare for:
Students are expected to be able to play through the Ninja Anthem along to the music while standing up. For those that are performing additional songs, they are expected to be able to perform the song along to the music while standing up as well. Those with more confidence in their playing should work on stage presence (look up from their guitar, being able to move around stage while still playing etc.)
Students are expected to attend rehearsals on the day from 11:45am to ensure they are ready for the show at 2pm
Support:
For those learning Boulevard of Broken Dreams for this event, there is a help page with tab and a play through here:

What Should Students wear?
Students should wear non-offensive, family friendly clothing. Plain tops or band tops are welcome, and Guitar Ninja tops are even better. Guitar Ninja tops are available in a wide range of colours including every grade colour. Grab yours now to ensure you have it in time for the show:
